Ok ya my friend has a 1990' bmw 325i and he wants a system

currently he has an alpine head unit and is only running the 2 front (regular speakers not the tweeters)

does anyone know the stock speaker sizes? and tweeter sizes?

when we installed the hu we couldnt figure out how to bypass the stock amps for the rear speakers

so ya, what would be a good system (components, amps and subs) for around 500 bucks or so

u serious

imo 500 is more than enough for a decent set

subs u can get for less than 150, amp, less than 150, components 200

hes not in any comps and know very little about car audio, he just wants a system

you need an adapter to bypass/integrate the amp (may need to rewire to do it the cheap way) .. you cant just hook up the hu.

and no you cant get a decent system for that amt of money. you may find something better than whats in there.. but youll prolly end up having to go with a low priced sub.. and liek a 4 channel amp that could power the sub and fronts at the same time. those two will prolly run ytou in the 300 range.. depends on what you want and where you look... then try to spend at least 200 on the frontstage, as thats prolly the least you can find somethin decent for. theres your 500 dollar system. but dont forget about wires w/ fuse (and holder) and a box (another 50-75 prolly) then the wires to bypass the amps.. another 25 prolly.

but your substage will probably be lacking as this part of the system is forced on a sacrifice from the budget. youll prolly have like 100 to spend there, which is kinda tight. then liek 200ish on an ok amp. youll prolly have to get everythig from ebay or a low cost internet retailer.

but for a GOOD system, that amount of money would be spent on one amp, then youd still have two more amps for an active frontstage setup, then subs, then box, eqs, etc you can see how GOOD systems get in the thousands very quickly.

try to find soem decent stuff in the range i was suggesting for each and youll have a pretty ok sounding system for now..

PG xenon 5.25 componets or cadence components ( like $60-80) Type Rs (2 12" or 1 15") (around $200)
can be found on ebay
I dunno what amps but that should leave you about $200 for amp/s probably can only get one. Then you need a box and wiring.
