Looking for an engine tranny combo.
I want a stock fwd tranny that will handle 350hp/tq the best in comparison to the others on the market.
I want a stock engine (that with beefing up of the bottom end of course) responds well to a forced induction.
I want a car that is light that is fwd.
What car am i looking for?

Honda h-series, closed deck aluminum block, DOHC vtec engine, put this into a civic hathback or a crx, lightest car possible. If you dont want to the amount of work to put that motor in a civic then a 92+ prelude or 90+ accord will swap that motor in stock mounts, tranny, and harness if you keep the motor within the same years as the cars ie 90-95 OBDI, and 96+ OBDII.

Yeah then he can be one of many sartie owners who think they have a damn racecar. No offense. That and i told this to someone that said yeah why spend 22k on a supra when you can get a used SRT4 for about 14k, i tol them this to the word. The SRT4 might be a better car for the money as far as speed to price goes, but the supra will still be worth 20k in 5 years where as the SRT4 will be worth about 7k in 2 years. Il admit those little cars can fucking move but its a little funnier to see a mustang get its ass beat by an older family sedan, or coupe that should be sitting in the grocery store parking lot.
Theres a lot of different things that you can do, ive seen 240's with RB series engines, Toyota AE86 or SR5's even corolla sedans with 3SGTE swaps that are fast as hell. You can get a little pocket rocket CRX into the 10's with 450 HP for between 5-10k including the cost of the car. Theres a lot you can do.
Best thing blight can do is give a budget what style car, cause a crx can weigh between 1500-2000 with driver depending on what year, and model. Theres alot of variables.

I am mostly concerned about a tranny that can handle the power. and an engine that responds very well to boost. then i am the car itself- cause with enogh money anything can be done. I am looking for the base car to be under 15 grand. and everythign else i plan to keep it under grand to supe it up.
I am looking foa daily driver NOW- that has a GREAT tranny that will not break and an enigne that can handle the boost and respond very well to it- LATER ON.
I am not looking to mod it right now- but coming from fieros tells me that unless it is rwd (which i am looking for fwd) it is hard to ind a bullet prrof tranny- and an enigne together that responds well to boost. I am looking for light because of the handling and i don't like big cars anymore(ie:.....duh fiero) and because the option of an easier power to weight ratio.

Im telling you man a 90 crx si 5-speed will set you back between 500-1200 depending on the condition, drop in an h series engine h22-vtec, h23-non vtec. The stock trans with LSD should handle up to 350-400 hp. If not aftermarket transmission are available.

H22 and H23 come from preludes. The H22 doesn't handle boost very well though and the H23 handles it decently.

They both handle boost extremely well, granted the H22 has higher compression so it wont respond as well as the H23. Stock bottom end can handle 7-8 psi and 7 psi can put that motor just above 300HP. Get forged bottom end with 8.5-9:1 compression and you can get up to 20psi.
I talked to one of the local honda gurus and told me the stock trans can handle at least 400-500 stock. Just need new axles. Look on ebay you can get mounts for H22 in a CRX, or Integra, or Civic, get a 92-95 civic hatch those cars are maybe 200lbs more than a CRX and to me they look a little better than a CRX, but the CRX is usually more common. You can get full swap for about 1200-2400 depending on what you want and the install setup incudes mounts, axles, and some more stuff cant remember what else but its everything you need to swap it in.

The prelude trans, the crx trans is pretty much bullet proof seen people running 500+ hp on a stock SI trans. To adapt the h series to the d series would start with the hard work.

i completely agree with whats been said.
the honda h23 is an awesome engine n/a'd, but isnt hard to boost and will hadle it fairly well for a design based on N/A.
crx's are cheap, they are ugly as sin, but will get up to the power you need in no time. the CRx si trannies are almost bullet proof, the only time ive heard of one blowing is when it was running 600whp.
as much as im not really into honda, i will admit, they are awesome engines to build on. and the aftermarket is huge and cheap.

A stock CRX Si weighs in at around 2200lbs. An H series engine can be mated to a d-series tranny (stock for crx) but will cost a hefty amount using Bisimoto adapter. I believe a b-series tranny will bolt up to an H series engine with Hasport adapter. BTW, d series trannies aren't that bullet proof.
I don't know about the piggyback vs stand alone question.

The d series isnt 100% bullet proof, guy at the track that my friend knows was running a GSR, with an LS crank pushing about 15 psi he put down a little over 460, on the stock crx-si trans with a LSD, and aftermarket axles. Stock internalls just the LSD. Ive seen guys "claiming" to run over 500HP on the stock internall with some minor aftermarket support. Dont really consider a phantom grip or a quiafe minor but they do.
Yeah he did make an adapter, at my uncles shop. Ran mid 10's running 10 psi. Shame though totaled the car when he was coming home one night blew the rear tire and hit a tree. Il admit i dont know everything about hondas, im still learning. Most of the info i get, i ask my honda friends, but i do know a fair amount compared to ricer guys that think they can make a car fast by putting vtech tuning stickers on there car. Im more of a mechanical person id rather learn how something works, what makes it do what it does. HP is nothing unless you know what to do to make it.
