Hi-
I'm having a few troubles with my Kia. First, my car often stutters and hesitates when in idle, particularly when I'm low on gas. Also, there are times that my car has trouble going into drive from reverse- it kind of jumps into gear. This happens mainly when my car is not fully warmed up. Lastly, there is a strong smell of gas on the inside of my car, particularly when it is cold outside (around 40 degrees or below). After about 15 minutes the smell goes away inside the car, but the gas odor kind of lingers around the car on the outside. Anybody have an idea how I can make my car run smoothly again? Thanks.

Idle Air COntrol valve (IAC) is reported as a factor in such cases. THis is easy to clean out and the price is zero so better look at the easy solutions first: remove 2 screws and you are in business.

About the smell...this has been reported in numerous occasions and a search with these keywords - gas smell - in this forum will probably bring some cues. I remember having read a very plausible solution...but my memory is..ehh..what was I talking about...lol....
will return later on htis.....?? this, I mean...ahh..my fingers now...what a mess
