lumina not firing

I have a 1990 Chevy Lumina, I went to start it today it started for a second and all of a sudden quit and would not start back up. The first thing I did was checked and see if it was firing and it was not It was dead on all the cylinders. Does anybody have any ideas on where I can start to fix this problem. Maybe there is a common problem that happens with these cars, oh i forgot to mention it is a 3.1 euro.

The three common issues are crank position sensor, ignition module and ECM. The crank position sensor is the cheapest($15). It's located in the back of the block, just above the oil pan rail, slightly toward the passenger side and is mounted with an 8mm headed bolt. The ignition module is the most expensive($150), and is located under the coil packs on the front of the engine, just under the front exhaust manifold. The ECM is the middle cost offender ($80/exchange), and is located under the plastic cover in the passenger fender well. You can tap on the ECM with a screwdriver handle, and if the car stalls while you're tapping, the ECM is bad. The test proceedures for the crank sensor and ignition module are too extensive to list here, but you can buy a repair manual for about $15 that will walk you through it.

Thanks for your help, About a year agao i bought a used ECM for it a at salvage yard. When i shook the thing I could here a radling noise Like there was somthing in there so the owner of the salvage yard said to try it if it dont work he would give me my mony back, so i figured I could not go wrong for $10 so this could be my problem again.

Goter fixed it was the ICM, popped it in runs like new. Thanks again for your help.
