NNL Build - Drift S13 *56K Warning!?!?*

Well I decided on saturday (March 11th 2006) that I was going to build the S13, soon to discover that NNL was around the corner. So I got to work, and I winded up building the car in a little over a week, Finished it Sunday (March 19th 2006).

Heres a little information about the build up. The kit was made completely from scratch, started with a lip that was formed from sheet styrene and built it up in layers, I have about 10 hours in the front end alone. The rear bumper is a heavily modified integra bumper, lengthened to fit, that has a good 4 hours into it. The sideskirts Are just dom balasa wood puttied over, and smoothed out. Hood is ALL styrene, then blended with putty. Spoiler is from the wing set be Aoshima I believe. Interior consists of the racing seats and tach from the drift parts set from Aoshima. The Interior is also sporting a custom built roll cage, and some speaker decals from a civic hatch on the lower front door panels. (Something to look for at NNL!) Car was painted with krylon paint, polished and waxed it slightly. Rims are Fujimis I believe, nismo wheels, forgot the name of the rims. If you need/want to know let me know I'll go look, they came w/ the brembos. Custom exhaust line, and muffler, scribed new panel lines. Thats about all I can think of. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Little late now, I noticed that as well after i clipped the body onto the chassis. I dont think the body will ever come back off, its such a tight fit. Also it's not as noticable in person as in pictures :banghead:

Wow surprised you remembered my name, havnt talked to you in a long time, then again I havnt really had time for much model building. I'm working on restoring an old impala model nwo, and hopefully I'll pick up a first gen blazer, all I'm going to say about these is that there will be a ton of styrene work in them :icon16:

Nice build and great work on the kit, Especially in the short amount of time of a week! To bad about the front offset, but the car still looks stunning.

you said you used krylon paint... meaning that you just used plain old spray paint on this model? And did you use the Krylon fusion? Or just plain old Krylon spray paint?

Sorry I didnt specify. Its just plain old krylon, Closest to what I wanted, a non-metallic dark blue. The hue was exactly what I had pictured:iceslolan

Rick, good luck tomorrow at NNL and have fun! And remember, if you come across a Silverado, hit me up!!! I'm sure your S13 and your Integra (if finished) should look awsome! Maybe next year, I'll have a model good enough to enter... :smooch:

Nice build! And in such a short time! I love working with styrene but there is no way I could churn something out this quickly.

Great job!

Wow! Nice work, I especially appreciate the extensive styrene mods. Very well executed design, and that diorama is the coolest garage scene I've seen...

(get it? scene = seen... heh heh, I r funny)

Well we did meet up briefly yesterday, your model looks great! Should have stayed for the group shot at the end of the day. Hope you didn't get too cut up from that offroad excursion across the creek before the show opened up :icon16: We were saying "why didn't they just take the foot bridge?"...:uhoh: :evillol:

I was talking w/someone and you passed us, and they told me you were SidewayzS15, and I commented that I had seen your car on display. We were going different directions, so it was a really quick meetup.
