Hi
I drive a 94 accord ex and i just got my valve cover powdercoated. Once i recieved it i noticed that the guy had painted on the inside of the valve cover. I wanna know if this is going to cause problems on my engine. I heard people say that they try to avoid to get paint on the inside as much as possible. Any reply would be appreciated. Thanks

Well thanks anyway. Yes he said he chemically degreased the inside before he powdercoated the outside. Im just worried whether the paint woud affect my engine performance.

who's stupid enough to paint the inside of the valve cover? how's the quality on the powdercoat? were you satisfied with it? but my point is that ... the powdercoat shouldn't be on the inside of the valve cover, who would ever look of the inside of the cover (not the pistons, gaskets, heads, etc ...)

I didn't think it was on purpose. I was a little shock when i saw that he overpainted on the inside. I kinda got worried about my camshafts. I just want some opinion before i actually install it. BTW, the outside looks awesome.

Id say if the finish is good quality, i.e. no cracks or places where the powdercoat could potentially flake off into the top end of your motor, install it. Powdercoat should have no problem standing up to the heat so you shouldn't have any problems there i wouldn't think. If you still have your doubts though, get yourself a drill with a steel brush wheel in it and take the inside of the cover back down to bare metal.
