this can be likened to many cars like the malibu and the impala.
what do you think of the new models of the legend(namesake) compared to thier forerunners? the montecarlo is a good example... it has gone through a number of "gens" which do you like... which dont you. if you want to add in any others (ie malibu .... or even the camaros, mustangs... even though they retain thier rear drive) by all means.

Fourth Generation SS is by far my favorite. Although its 305 motor was a bit anemic at 190 horsepower, it was still a blast to cruise around with the t-tops off. The car just had a great look to it refined yet muscular. and back to the anemic motor the engine bays in these things were usually big enough to stuff something a lil larger in it. I've seen 454's put in with some minor mods.

I like those 80's models, the ones that resembles the grand national. They're not very fast, but they have a cool boxy look, and how many american cars were fast durring those years anyway... not even the vette. They also make cool looking lowriders imo, if your into that style.

this is true... we just finished work on an 86 w/ the 4.3. it's not very fast. but i love the look... as sad as it sounds coming from a mechanic... i hope she doent like the bill and leaves us the car. all i gotta do is pay the bill and my boss'll give me the car.

The new monte had potential, but they just didn't give it enough punch. I had one as a rental car once, and looking at it you expect it to have a high lift cam and a mean exhaust, but it's just a pansy v6 FWD. I think the Impala is actually on an upswing. The previous body style was horrible, and now they're actually going back with a v8. The camaro will be exciting whenever it comes back, but I don't think they'll actually go with the retro look in the way that ford did, at least I hope not.
