Outfitting My New Car

Well it's almost summer and time to switch up cars again. This time I'm going to take my grandparent's Chrysler New Yorker and see if it's a car I can stand to drive for more than a year.

I'm looking to sell my Talon for $2300 and, since the car is free, could probably spend about $600 on a new system then (I've gotta start saving for college it's only a year away). I'll probably be buying most of my stuff off eBay to take advantage of the savings.

This is what I've had so far:
Sony headunit-worked fine for about 1 1/2 years then would stop outputting sound every couple of minutes
Dual headunit-I like this alot. Has an input so I can play my iPod through without any accesories.
2 Rockford Fosgate 12" subs-OK but when compared to my friends JLs they sound like shit
Rockford Fosgate Amp-Seems to power the subs OK

I've been looking on eBay and saw alot of good deals on JLw0s. How are these compared to w3s, which my friend has. I'm looking for alot louder and cleaner bass than the Rockfords provide.
I was thinking of getting a Profile amp because they seem to be the best cheap amps out there, according to the people in this forum.
Then some good speakers. I have no idea what kind so if you could lead me in the right direction.

So if anyone can help me find what I'm looking for that would be great.

W0's are lower line, W3's are midline

problem with car stereo stuff is that it's expensive. It's worth it to try and save for a little nicer stuff the first time out - you actually save money that way.
