Hood Wont Open

1996 Blazer..........Cant get the hood open......the lever is loose and wont pull the cable....I cant pull the cable with vise grips/pliers......How do I get the hood to open....????

i have the same problem, i pull the handle sometimes and the hood will not open. all i do is either slam the drivers door and it pops up or i hit the hood a few times and it pops. once u get it open, use some white lube and lube up the latch.
