borgeson shaft

i installed the borgeson shaft into my 2002 2500HD,6.0L. it was worse than the original shaft. check this out :

Due to the tolerances allowed for OEM specification, the upper connection
may not be as tight as it should be to eliminate the "Clunk' completely.
Very rarely do we run into this issue of a proper install not eliminating
the problem. The only thing left to do is to shim the upper connection.
The shimming material should be of quality material or the problem will
re-surface down the road. Loosen the upper connection and with a feeler
gauge, properly fit the correct size between the two surfaces, this
determines what thickness of shim material is required to correct the
problem. Once the material has been selected, fitted and installed,
re-torque the connection bolt to the factory specifications. The problem
should now be eliminated.


i re-installed the original shaft, after the lub kit. no ckunk, for awahile. so....borgeson does not always solve the problem. there is no way to get a feeler guage into the upper connection.

there is a guarantee on these shafts. send it back.
