Adding refrigerant to a/c myself

Does anyone have any experiance with adding refrigerant by themselfs? I've never done it. Any tips. Does anyoneknow the recommended pressure? Any recomendations of where to get a good pressure gauge?

All I know is if you screw it up, you can kill yourself pretty damned easily. That refrigerant will crystalize your lungs in 5 seconds flat.

lol sounds fun, most new refrig is sold in a can that is calibrated to not over pressurize the system

pffft i have accidentally vented r134a at school and it wont fuck anything up. just dont actually inhale it.

yes u can but here is the trick.. r 134 is a mixture of 3 gases

if u had a leak or if u add more the mixture will be lost and doesnt matter how much gas u have in the system it wont work right

also check how much u got in the system before u add more

if u add more than the specified amont u will blow the compressor

i saw that in school lol it had a hole of a size of a tennis ball lmao

i say if is cooling leave it like that, or remove all of it pull vacuum

and check for leaks, then add new refrigerant
