How much would the average cost be for a complete lt1 rebuild. I want the works, does anyone know how much would it cost? I got my tnt nitrous system and i was going to install it this weekend, but i was thinking that i should rebuild the engine. Nothing is wrong with the engine but i just want it built so i can spray some serious juice.

If you arent going to do it yourself, then it will cost you $$$, just like any other rebuild... Just start calling around in your area and see what people are charging. I got a quote to rebuild a 71 Buick 455 about a year ago in Oxnard and it was 1,325 which is a great deal, but I have decided to change the heads, so I think I'l do it myself this summer...
You should decide if you want to upgrade anything, or if you just want to leave it stock...but if you are going to be using nitrous, and you want to rebuild, then you might as well upgrade some of your engines components for more strength and power...
You should just start shopping for what you want and make a project out of it...

if your going to put a big shot into, it could cost alot, i would go with forged internals, a bigger cam, etc and if you are not doing the work yourself, if will cost even more

I was thinking about 5g does that sound good? Yeah i want everything forged and coated, intake ported, heads completely redone & ported and polished, i just want this baby to handle a 200 shot of nitrous. I just had my tranny completely rebuilt and it could handle 500hp. I know i'm going to need a new rear end. I was thinking could a rear end from a 89 iroc handle it? It's a nine bolt so i've heard there strong or should i just go for a dana rear end?

dana rear end, the 89 rear end can't handel all of that. You will probly be pushing the tranny to it's limits with a 200 shot and some performance mods.

I had my trans built so it could handle 500rwhp. I'm only going to use the NITROUS if i go to the track or the desert. So i think if i only use then the tranny will hold up. But i want to build my car to have atleast 450rwhp & then maybe spray some juice in her.

I'm even thinking of just skipping the nitrous and buying a remote mount turbo. I heard stock internal engines can handle 6lbs of boost. Isn't the lt1 compression a little high for 6lbs. of boost?

If your going for the rebuild Blazing, just do what everyone told ya, get some forged internals, some D-shaped pistons (thanks dave, and i believe they drop compression, which is what you may want when going with the remote mount turbo). Go for it man. You'll have a badass LT1, as if it ain't badass already.

rebuild by itself will run u at least 2.5- 3k. if u are lucky. take it from me, spray is sweet, but u should get forged internals or u will be dropping that engine again for a rebuild real soon. i know u can spray it on a stock bottom end, but its nothing more but a ticking bomb, it will catch up and the thing is u never know how long.maybe a year hell maybe a month. my pistons, lifters rings and all that good crap ran me close to 2k and that was because our engine guy owed me for a tranny i hooked him up with. do it right the first time man

Yeah im defitnetly going to do it right the first time. Im going to get all forged internals. I think im going to skip the spray and go with the rear mounted turbo, i know this guy who got his 97ss turbo and it haulls ass, one day at the races he completely owned a 04 cobra, i mean he made the cobra look like a honda.

....id rather do an all motor stroker build.....turbos, or superchargers with eat your money up real fast. Guy I know has a 383 lt1 carbed with forged internals and he is pushing close to 500 horse

Carbs are beautiful. So simple and can produce like a mofo.

wow.. 200 shot thats pretty big, forged pistons, rods, steel crank, etc look to spend about 4 g builin it on your own and even more to pay someone else

I decided not to run nitrous, i think im just going to go all motor. I thinking of stroking it into a 383. If anyone is interested im going to be selling my brand new nitrous system if my buddy doesnt want it.

yeah build a nice 383 stroker lt1, i would still go forged internals, and get some stuff for the efi too, bigger tb, injectors, custom tune etc.. expect to spend alot though
