Appreciate Life, cuz you never know...

I'm talking to a very close friend of mine and she tells me her mother is suing Boces, (an education institution) here in NY, specifically the one in Warwick/Sugarloaf area. The school has several construction vehicles parked on their campus field. Her cousin, who lives with her, was working community service.
He was in between two of these, talking to some other kid who was sitting inside one of the vehicles, when the kid mistakenly moved a lever and the truck rolled and crushed her cousin's arm against the second truck. panicking, the kid messed around with the levers and ended up driving the first truck further so that it pushed the second away, but crushed her cousin's upper left body underneath the wheel.
After help arrived moments later, he was removed, and taken to the ER where he underwent extensive surgery. They were able to repair most of his arm and upper body. He is no longer in the ICU but still recovering. He has a metal rod in his arm because his bones are shattered, and his muscels are severed, so he is looking at a very long road to recovery. It is very unfortunate for him because he was in love with NYC, and dreamed to be in the NY Fire Dept. He is no longer able to join because of this injury, as well as other set backs he'll have to suffer.
The Doctor was telling my friend and her mother that the injuries that he sustained were extensive, but veryy lucky. The truck was only few inches from critical points on his body that could have killed him within the first 5 minutes, and only several inches from his head...
Tehre can be many people at fault, here, but the main thing to look at is that he just narrowly escaped death. He's lucky to even see another day. This guy is as normal as you or me. Although its a freak accident, it can happen to any one of us, and shows the real danger we are always in. We should always look at our life positively, never take for granted what we have. Always have fun, even if it involves a lot of danger, but live life to the fullest, cuz one day, man, you never know.
thank god he's alright, best of luck for the road ahead for him, and to everyone out there, i hope you read this and look at your life and sieze the day :smokin:

Meh. Sorry. It's just this blonde hair of mine..
It's ok Nicole.
Anyway, I know what you guys mean, I've know several people in freak accidents that are normal people. They don't live life in the danger zone or anything. One day though you have something come at you and you're almost dead. Makes you really think when you sit down and take a look at things.

I think I seize life as much as I can right now.
Sort of hard with parents getting in the way. "Blah, blah, blah, only 17..."
But yeah, what I was trying to say was that Vinny summed it up in the first post.

That was lucky. A friend of mine's cousin was tragically killed recently in Montreal. She was only 21.
