emo kids' parents

so i was at taco bell last night and saw this group of kids that were hardcore emo and trying to be "with the scene". and then i thought, i wonder what their parents think. they must feel like the biggest fuck ups in the world as parents. or at least that's how they should feel. seriously, when a guy wears tighter jeans than i do, that's just not right. if that was my kid trying to be emo, i would've taken him shopping for some real clothes, given him a haircut and hidden all sharp objects from him. there's nothing wrong with expressing yourself, but i wouldn't want my kid to be known as the kid that might be gay, but noone's really too sure...

just felt the need to share. any thoughts on this?

If it were me i'd just let em do whatever they want since its their life and I shouldnt be trying to live through them, if I was the parent. Also I would really consider it a phase and would honestly kick their ass or something.

I think for most kids, it's a phase. And parents should know when to intervene and when to just let them be.

probably not, i'm a bit slow. and i dind't say i'm the buddha or anything, experience amounts to wisdom. a close friend of mine had a baby boy just about 6 months ago, he's a sophomore in college, his gf (the mother) is still a junior in high school. it really makes you think.

Damn thats bad.. I have a friend who has 3 kids and he's barely 19.. alot of teen pregnancy and the life is barely starting.. oh well.

"bad" isn't how i'd put it, atleast not for my friend. Obviously something unexpected, and somehting that has given him early responsibility and caused to sacrifice some of his future for his son, but, he's a father, and anyway you look at it, that's never bad.

that was kind of a random post :screwy: annnnnnyways i don't hate the emo tribe. in fact, i love emo music. i'm just not agreeing with their clothing style and outlook on the world.

my ex best friend is now an emo poser wannabe skater chick. she's always bitching on how horrible life is and oh the pain and agony. yeah, daddy just bought her a brand new $16000 car, her new step mom excuses her from school whenever she wants to sleep, go shopping, or just doesn't feel like being there. she has a steady bf and friends and is getting a 4.0 in school. her dad also gives her all the money she wants and pays for everything she could ever want. of course with a situation like that, she must really understand what it means to have a hard life. it's not that i truly hate emo kids, it's that they take a lot of stuff for granted and are ignorant to the fact that they're not the only ones getting burned by love and relationships.

So we both agree that we should invite them to the dancing fire tonight in happyness of them being cooked so that we can share them around???
