I've had a trans leak come on rather suddenly from my Jimmy (130k mi.) that is running just fine otherwise. Noticed the leaking at first from smoking drips on the exhaust and now it has developed into a considerable drip over a few days of Metro Atl driving. Coincidentalty, this problem occured shortly after changing out the plugs and plug wires. I've done the filter / fluid change, wiped the tranny off the best I can in the garage and the best visual I can get on the leak is clean fluid forming around the upper cooling line fitting on the passenger side of the trans. I'm not sure if this fluid is migrating from somewhere above the fitting or if that's the source. I'm posting this while the exhaust cools enough to investigate further.
My question is - are there any other points above the described cooling line that might be the source of my leak? If so, can they be accessed without professional help? i.e. dropping the trans
Thanks in advance for any input.
