Has anyone looked at getting the TomTom Rider for their bike? I've been using a GO 700 in my Jeep but wanted to hear what people thought about the Rider. Anyone?

gps on a bike can be dangerous unless you pull over to use it. i went riding with a guy who had it, he was swerving all over the road even went into the oncoming lane. till we made him pull over the idiot almost got smoked by a car. just figure out where your going ahead of time.

Really? I'd heard some great things about the Rider. It's water resistant and can be used with gloves, which is nice. Maybe you just have to get used to having it on the bike.

meh, i see no use in using a GPS WHILE riding...just look over the route before hand and put it to memory and then if you feel lost just pull over to use it...

I use my GPS quite a bit scouting out nice twisties and it works great as a rolling map. Most of the LD riders use Garmin 2610's. I just have a lowly Magellan Meridian Gold, but it gets the job done.

down under the tom tom comes with bluetooth earpieces for your helmet so you don't even need to mount it. my dad carries his in his seat storage and follows the chicks voice. works well for the newbie rider who needs to concentrate on the road

I hadn't thought about that. The Rider in the US also has the Bluetooth earpiece that goes in a helmet. I know the Rider is designed for mounting, but your dad's idea is interesting.
