I am the proud owner of a 1996 black blazer LT with 144k miles and a vortex engine. Body is in good shape. Just finished repairing the electrical issues and now its time to tackle the engine cooling problems.
Significant amounts of water is pouring down the back side of the motor onto the ground. I have read other threads and my symptoms seem to be the similar, ie drivers side behind the air conditioner unit but my water volumn is much greater. I assumed freeze plugs but all looks intact. No disconnected hoses. No obvious answers. Most of the threads seem to have small leaks. In fact, under the conditioner compressor I did notice a small steam leak with the engine hot but I am looking for Niagra Falls. Any Ideas.....
I believe its is the intale gasket but it would benice to have a confirmation.
If so does anybody know the torque and the sequence of the intake manifold bolts. I have purchased a service manual but once received the CD would not load. I would like to start/finish today.

Sounds like the intake gasket is leaking. Check your oil and see if you have coolant in it. It could be and bad freeze-out plug. Being a 4.3, it's most likely going to be an intake gasket. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I have checks out the freeze plug, looks solid. With the engine running and from under the car the water/antifreeze is running down the back of the motor over the bell housing and onto the exhaust cross pipe. Cannot see exactly where the source is but I agree its the intake gasket. Bought all the parts yesterday including a new water pump. Thanks for the bolt sequence. I'll let you know how it goes.
