I'm thinking of getting a pair. Do you think they are worth $250 or should I look elsewhere?

you really need to LISTEN to them ... only way you're gonna know. Price, I don't know.

195 on ebay, id get a set of CDT's, or RE's over jl.

RE's are good if you can cross your sub over a tad higher. I still have a dip in my responce in the 75-120Hz area. that's almost a whole freaking octave. however deadener did help it a WHOLE lot.

i wouldnt pay JL MSRP or regular retail prices for anything JL. End of discussion on my point of view.

It's getting harder and harder for retailers to sell at MRSP ... I would think they should cut you some slack - especially if you are gonna install it yourself.
