OK, I just got a DOHC head for my D15. I would like to know what I need to put this on my car and would it even be worth the work HP/TQ wise. I also took the MPFI manifold, wiring harness, injectors pretty much the whole top half, I would have got the bottom as well but it was a wreck and I could not get it out. ANYWAYS, What do you guys/gals think and I need to know where I can find step by step instructions, so I get it right the first time. Thanks

You cant do it. It wont work, nothing matches, and theres no point going any further...sorry, but even the surface area of the head and cylinder are different, not to mention oil passages and other things. If I'm wrong, someone slap me hard and repeatedly, but Im almost certain on this one...

I'm assuming it's a dohc ZC head (because obviously a b-series head won't fit).

Other than that, from what I can see most people say that 1 or more head bolts won't line up (though that guy in the links says it does). And that the coolant holes won't line up exactly. Sounds like a very risky adventure to me.

Thats guy in that link looks like he has serious problems, coolant everywhere (passages dont line up), oil all over (again, they dont line up), and other issues...Look at all the fab work he had to do just to bolt the damn thing on, and that just to keep it from falling off!

I would highly advise against this setup... No way in hell would that be reliable...

Dammit, sorry but just getting discouraged on my horsepower issues with the SOHC. I am stationed in Germany and cannot find the parts (Engine) in my neck of the woods, I keep getting bad info on interchangeability (real word?) Yes I know all about being in europe and the supposed goldmines of D16's 18's and such but the only things I am finding are the same SOHC D15's, and a 2.0 prelude motor. And trust me I go within a two hour radius and chase rumors around junkyards like crazy.

ANYWAYS (rambling again) I guess the question is once and for all what is the best swap that would be the easiest for me, there are ZERO shops here, the ones that are around would not even help me do my MPFI swap!! PROPS to everyone here for help in that!

What are some good swaps for my 89 4dr. sedan, and please keep the sarcastic "junk it for a 2dr. SI" or any other craziness cause I have heard them, the car is set up nice and has as many bolt ons, no wings or anything like that, full suspension, etc. My SOHC has no leaks, 240,000 miles, runs great, but not enough power. Ahh the ever loving search for more power, thanks for any help in this quest.

do a mini-me vtec head swap im pretty sure you could find a good head on ebay for cheap. and im pretty sure the only part you would need is a vtec controller or rpm switch so vtec will kick in. i would look for a d16z6(92-95 si,ex civic). i have been told this is the best d seriese motor you can find. the other is d16y8(96-99 si,ex civic) if anyone thinks this is wrong please correct me. i dont want to be giving the wrong info to this guy/gal

and another thing if it is dpfi you will need to switch to mpfi. (not needed to run but needed for that power you want)
