Hi, just thought you may like to know that I traded mr Diablo 2WD for a VT roadster today...
I have had my 2wd for 2 years and clocked up over 20K KMS I have had loads of experience from cracked bumpers to a full engine rebuild.
If anyone would like to know anything about running costs or my experienes with these cars then I would only be to pleased to help...
I also have a F 355 Spider that we race against the Diablo (not the new Roadster yet) and loads of videos and tons of pics...
Let me know if any one wants any snaps of a particular part of these wonderful cars and I will snap then with my digital camera...

Thats great!
How much did you get it for? What did you sell you 2wd for? Just curios if it were a good deal!
Also if you have pictures or videos when you race with the F355 and Diablo could you please put them here, I think it would be more than fun to see those videos of those great cars!
Take care,
Lukas

I traded my 2WD for the price I expected to get it was coming to the end of its extended warranty period and I was starting to pay out for it....and it was not getting any younger....
Havent been out in the VT Roadster yet properly because the weather has been shit, but I know enough to say you cant just carry your 2WD experience over to it, its gonna take me a little while to tame this 500 bhp 200 mph monster !!
Only completed one sucssesful mission to re-fuel her yesterday ( one of many to come I am sure) as it took me 20mins to get out of the garage as it had attracted a fair few spectators..
Going to be messing around with my capture card soon..any ideas on how to post the video on here or will I have to upload to a website ?

Congratulations on your purchase
I love Yellow diablos. The roadster is a lot of fun my buddy has a '99 Monterey Blue Roadster and a 6.0 VT. I have pics of his 2 and my diablo on the road too.
By the way what year is your roadster?
Here is my baby:
She is a '99 Diablo VT Alpine Edition car #5 of 12

Nice picture of your Diablo...its California Orange isnt it ?
Really like your wheels too.....mine have been colour coded and I am not sure if I like them....might have them put back to the original chrome.....nice spoiler by the way.
I think I need a special spolier for the roadster...
What other cars have you had ?
My Roadster is a 98 by the way and its the only (as far as I know) Super Fly Yellow RHD in the UK had to wait ages to find one...

Yes, my Diablo is California Orange. When I first started shopping for the Diablo I wanted the Metallic Yellow, like yours.
My rims are special edition that come on the Alpine Edition Diablos. They are accented with 14K Gold bolts.
The rear spoiler adds a different dimension to the car aesthetically. I think the wing makes the car look more aggresive, but on the other hand Diablos with out wings look very sleek. I guess it is up to the individual. I have driven Diablos with and without wings and the wing, at high speeds, noticably stabilize the car. They feel a lot more grounded.
The Diablo is my first exotic. I have had an NSX, 740IL, Lexus', and an S-class mbz. I am planning on either getting another Diablo, either a 6.0 VT or possibly wait for the outcoming model in September, or a Ferrari 360 Spyder. I am still undecided, I have had a lot of mixed input to my dilema. What do you think I should get. I would appreciate and respect an opinion from someone with both a Lambo and a Ferrari.

Both a Lamborghini and Ferrari, Sorry Dude, I don't.... Dogbreath may be...
but the thing is if you going to have a lamborghini and a Ferrari, then you might like to choose two compelely different style, such as, if you have a Roadster, you might not like to chose a Spyder, if you have a Coupe you might want a convertible...
Like your Lamborghini VT Coupe, i suggest to get a 550 Spyder, Berchello or something like that... its a different feeling of Driving experience from the Lambo (front Engine, RWD), where the Lambo is a Mid engine 4WD, its converable, and prestige. the service is pretty much the same as a Modena any way

Nice to know someone else thinks the way I do about car combinations !!
355 as you probably know is different animal altogether, very useable and I would take it to to places that just arnt suitable for the Diablo...especially if I dont know what the area or parking is like...
The 355 is Bambi a danceing Gazzele (antelope thing) and will out handle any Diablo on a twisty country lane....
I am really glad I got my 355 spider, but I am even more glad I didnt trade my Diablo for it..becuase for pure fun, excitment and attention, plus raw power, and looks and top line speed to die for...Diablo cant be beaten
We have great fun going out together in them....to see a Diablo around here is rare to see it followed by a 355 spider is rarer still..
I think F50 and 355 is not good combination, but Red Ferrari 355 and Yellow Diablo works well.. I love having two of Italys finest cars on my Drive...
I think Red F50 and Yellow Diablo and maybe a Silver 355 or 360 spider is ok to...NOT intrested in Mclaren (and I am not jealous cause I can afford one.... no prob) but its like all british styling Aston Martin etc.....BORING BORING !! if I pay 150 grand for a car I want it to look like it cost 150 grand....I think all Astons should be supplied with slippers as there such an old mans car....Only my opinon though...
My future plans are Diablo Vt Roadster, Ferrari F50 (when the guy wants to sell it to me next year) and to trade my 355 for 360 spider when it becomes available here...and to trade my 328i bimmer for new m3 when that arrives here..
I look forward to you comments....

A Rossa F50 and a Giallo Diablo is denfinatly the best combo of all. especailly if they all hard top convertable!
But Dogsbreath, i have to say that i still perfer a Lamborghini than a Ferrari any day tho, althought i've never own a Ferrari before.
I am planning to start my own showroom in a few years, let me sort out all the different finacial things right now. When its up, it will be all exotics, and i hope you guys would come to my opening. I know PETER will!! GO MAN!!
But in case i don't open my showroom, i'll sell my Roadster for a SXR.

Your such a suck up gan$tarr :) Dogsbreath100, I respect you for your opinions on car combinations You think like me. If you're upgrading your cars to F50 and whatever you could do this,
Red F50+Current Diablo+ Silver M3
Red F50+New Diablo (A contrast in colours though)+Silver M3
Red F50+Yellow 360 Spyder+ Silver M5
However, I'm sure the Diablo is pure sex so I doubt you want two Ferraris over a Diablo and a Ferrari. I agree with you on AM's too, some even come with Humidor dispensers & Cutters, I like them though. BTW, would you be interested in a Buggatti EB110 or a Jaguar XJ220?

Yeah porche i agree...
but i say that the M3 have to be yellow and the M5 have to be Black... and that's sweet.
EB110 is alrite, i perfer a XJ220 tho, but i'll like rather have a SXR tho but yeah
there is my pic

Colours to me matter a fair bit, I wouldn't want to brands of the same colour, Balck M5's are awesome, the look so much like Government cars and a Yellow M3 is just awesome because I think that BMW only makes that colour for the Z3 Series and M3 so it's rare. BtW, what's an SXr, We don't get them over here in Canada.

Yeah Porche i see wut you mean....
Just like some yellow cars are seen to like Cabs....
SXR is a new developed super car, it is not on the market yet. but the company reckon its going to beat the McLaren F1 and the F50.. it look really good in the magzine.
Hopfully it will be on the market next year. but they said they only making 40 of them, 5 every colour. Specs i am not sure, but its going to Mid Driving possition, Indi car style Gears if you want to know more of the car, i try to get hold of the magzine, and post on the site.
btw, how you get the porche badge under your name.?

Cool, that thing sounds like it will be very powerful, and there only making 40!?! Sounds liek you will be the owner of a VERY exclusive car! As for the Porsche badge, it's called an Avatar and when you reach 100 Posts you can go to your profile and under options you can put on on. Ask Igor for more details on size and stuff.

You could add the Ferrari F-50 anytime to my garage...probably not duplicated in any social circles you might travel in.
Keep in mind about girls and cars. Many won't know anything about them except the color. I pointed out a Porsche to the boss(wife) and she looked it over and though it was just another cheap car.
Have you thought about adding a Lamborghini powered yacht to your motoring garage? A Lamborghini, babe and water...yes that would be living.

While I must say that yellow isn't my favorite color, I have to add that the Roadster is my favorite car. A week ago I drove the 2000 Millenium Edition Roadster home for the first time. (It looks just like the pic's at Lambocar's site and I'll get some pic's up shortly) The car is totally amazing and having it convertable makes it more fun.
I agree with Dogsbreath's comments comparing the 355 to the Diablo. One of my partners drives a 355 and he lives in the city and there it's clearly more pratical than the Diablo. Yet, the Diablo is certainly HOTTER and more of a jaw-dropper. I stayed away from Ferraris bcuz here in the US we have what I call the Vette-syndrome. That is, in my opinion, too many newish Ferrari's simply look like fancy Corvettes. The Diablos have, as we all love, a different and, IMO, more exciting look.
I'm happy to have found this forum and to meet classy people that actually own and drive these superb autos.
In responce to a couple questions here asking what people do to afford a quarter million dollar car like the Diablo, I'm 43 and help run a Chicago stock options trading firm.
Abstract..I gotta tell you that your Alpine edition is SMOKING Hot !!

So, Gan$tarr, it sounds like you want to one of those guys who can buy just about anything? I'd like to be on Wall Street too, but cars have won me over, I'd choose a Lawyer as an proffesion if I couldn't be a Car Designer or Driver. Keep asking for advice cause I'd say that Wall Street will let you buy a Diablo or 2 so keep at it.
