I have a 1995 GMC Jimmy with a blown motor. I have the opportunity to get a 1993 W motor for next to nothing, and it runs well. Will this motor work, or do you need the correct year motor for this truck. And what are the modifications to make it work, if any. The 1995 jimmy has a W motor.

If you have the top post mounted distributor, it's a direct bolt in, if you have the side post mount, you will have to transfer the following from your old engine
Lower intake manifold
Reluctor wheel
Distributor
timing cover with crank sensor in it
About an extra hour or so worth of work.
