Oh for the good old days when it was easy to replace a fuel filter. First was the challenge of figuring out how to shut off the fuel pump. Now I can't get the fuel lines undone.:banghead: Can anybody give me any advice on getting the so called "quick disconnects" on the fuel line apart? I bought the tool which supposedly is the right size for Fords, (3/8 inch) but it doesn't fit into the connector. One thing is I may have to be a better tool. The one I got at Pepboys is a cheap plastic thing.

I've put enough time into this little project I hate to give up now. :grinno:

you should get all the different size tools. they are difficult to push in there and you have to pull the lines appart while pushing in the tool. if you use the open end of a wrench to push the tool in it's easier.

Thanks Mudder. Maybe with a better quality tool and some more pressure I'll have some success.
