harmonic balancer

I have a 95 LT1 and I'm replacing the harmonic balancer. My shop manual says that you need to make sure there is the same weights, in the same holes on the new balancer. The new balancer came with no weights, however it does have the same holes to accomidate the weights same as the old one. Do I remove the weights from the old balancer and install them in the new one in the same position or what?
