coolent in oil

Help,
I noticed recently that I was loosing coolent and couldn't find any leaks.
I kept adding about half gallon every couple of days until it got worse no I noticed it is all in htoil also.
Are these things known for head gasket problems?
I took the heads off and can't seem to find where it may have been leaking into the cylinders.
Any input would be helpful,

Need more info. Year, engine, mileage to start with. As I'm sure you are aware it's going to need to be delt with before you run it any more than you already have.

WHAT HE SAID. Just what vehicle do you have? Did you do a pressure test before removing the heads to try and locate the leak. Are you in in area where the engine could have been frozen? Unless you have aluminium heads for some reason there is no big history of bad head gaskets on the gm V8 that I know of or have heard of. As stated before more imformation is needed. Such as the engine size, over all condition and the year of the vehicle.

I remved the intake and the heads. Can't seem to see where the gaskets failed. I guess I should send these heads out for inspection.
Just wanted to know what the common failures are with these engines. Seems like a few threads on this site about leaking intake gaskets.
Engine didn't freeze up there was plenty of anti freeze in it and I kept adding more not just water. It started loosing a couple of months ago and progressively got worse. I kept an eye on the oil for the past couple of weeks then noticed the oil was contaminated with the coolant so I shut her down and ripped the top off the engine.
