V-DUB In Da House!

Okay guys this is kinda a long on going race that happened to me while i was going north to see a client. It was about an hour drive up there so you can imagine how bored i wouldve been if i didnt have these happen to me.

I left the office and head towards the highway when i saw a 3KGT VR-4. It was red, the paint a bit faded out but it sounded very nice. I was trying to bait him for about 10 mins till we actually got to the highway where he actually went for it. All through 2nd and 3rd gear i was ahead of him, through forth he managed to creep up a bit cause drag started to kick in.

Now as we are racing we run by a 350Z who decides he wants in too, I hear the car drop 2 gears and it is at my front bumper. The highway opens up to 4 lanes where me and the Z begin to manuever through the light traffic since its about 1PM. Looking back to see where the VR-4 is i see we lost him and he stopped trying. (which was a shame cause i wanted to keep running with it, even though it wouldve eventually beat me)

The Z and I catch a bit of traffic where we have to slow down, in doing so we catch the eye of yet another car, An '04 GLI (yes i kill my own kind), Needless to say he didn't last very long and me and the Z were still neck and neck. This is where even more fun comes along, the Z moves over 1 lane opening up a lane between us when out of nowhere a M3 comes and blows right by us raping us a new one, we try to catch up but it was long gone. After that the Z went to his exit and honk at me for a good run.

So I was left alone for about 10 minutes tilllI had a run in with a GTI, I dropped down to 3rd and punched it from 60 and ran the GTI up to about 90, I stopped cause the guy in it couldnt catch up. When he did reach up to me i saw it was 2 guys and they looked at me cross eyed so i did the VW sign from the commercial and they laughed. My exit was close up so i didnt die from bordom the rest of the way.

damn you get so many races, i guess its a good and bad thing. but congrats on how well you did with those cars, i guess v dub's really do got good top end when its got alittle work done to it.

Yeah there are ton and tons of kids willing to run you for the slightest reason out here.
I get races going to work, comming back from work, going from my house to Gotian's. two nights ago I killed three cars in like 10 minutes. One after another, an RSX, a new Civic SI and a Mazda 3.
we get runs all the time.

We should really tape this shit man, show all the AFers what we gotta deal with on a daily basis. :icon16:

The VR4 did start to pull on me but when the 350 came and we started dodging traffic we lost him and i guess he gave up cause when i looked in my mirror he was way back there. Not to mention the M3 is newer then the VR4 and it weighs less and distributes power better cause it doesnt have 4 wheels to go through.

It was a '03 to '04 M3 still looked brand new. And I said before that the VR4 was starting to pull on me but again when i started going through the traffic with the Z the VR couldnt keep up and just quit so that has nothing to do with the car just that the driver couldnt manuever well.

And my boost is he only thing that was apparently increased due to upgraded ECU, but i want to put it to 15 when i get a chance

VR4's have great top end, and the loss through AWD dosent get greater on the freeway. They are fast, with great power nomater what, and on the freeway the weight isnt even an issue at all. Basically its his power vs you in this case, and I know for a fact a VR4 will walk a 350z on the streets and murder on on the freeway.

You sure it was a VR4? Or, when you say he started to pull, you meant he got up and started after you like an angry shark going after some fat chick in an innertube lookin like someone outa a twinky commerical?

lol, first night out with the SX I had 11 flaged races, and alot of random encounters on the street and freeway. It was soooo much fun! Now all those people fear whatever car I drive out. If I drive a geo out they think it has like, a 400shot. :rolleyes:

I'm not saying I would beat a VR4 on a straightaway or drag race, i even said i know i would lose. Don't forget there is also turbo lag for those cars where mine has virtually none so i get everything right where i want it. But if we had gone for about 4 more seconds he wouldve had a nose lead on me and eventually pass me through 5th.

Turbo lag if you're two gears too high maybe... like 5th gear, when you need to be in 3rd to start racing...

But you said it got up and went pretty good, thus, he was spooled... so, in theory, no lag. Correct?

Guys stop trying to prove me wrong about something that i admitted i would lose to, I said it numerous times, I WOULD LOSE TO A VR4 ON A STRAIGHT AWAY, I OUT DROVE THE GUY!:banghead: It's not my fault i managed to beat a VR4 cause the guy cant drive, driving skill and just plain car abilities are 2 different things, let me put it this way, pedal to the medal he would have killed me cause there is almost a 2 sec. difference in performance, but in an autocross i wouldve killed him alot easier cause he couldnt drive.

Guy was probably trying to go from the wrong gear, 5th or 6th, big deal. Sound like you had quite a few good races. So congrats on that.

your just saying things that arent, so we correct it. there is basically no turbo lag in a vr4

it is a 1st gen so its a low 14 high 13 second car stock.

people were just curious how a m3 blew you away and the vr4 didnt, thats all.
