I have a 89 sub 1500, 4x4, 350 tbi, 700r4, 3:73. Cracked both heads and it was cheaper to upgrade to the 96 vortec heads. At the time the edelbrock performer was the only manifold available with an adapter to keep the stock tbi. Everything else is stock. The problem I have now is the computer needs to be re-programed so it recognizes the engine differance. There is only one shop in Salem, Or. that can do it and they want $500.00 and a 7 month waiting list.
Does anyone have any suggestions or where someone might be who can re-program the computer?
Thanks Dennis

You'll need to burn a custom PROM for your 1227747 ECM. You can get TunerPro reprogramming software free at http://www.supportfitness.com/mark/tunerpro/ then get the hardware required to burn a PROM at any number of places. One of the more cost effective is the Pocket Programmer II, available at http://xtronics.com/memory/EPROM.htm
You may even find someone at one of those sites to burn a custom for you. or either of these sites:

It's also possible that you could have a 1227746 ECM. The only real difference would be the mask file used to edit the PROM binary. The rest of the software and hardware would be the same.
