Guess the civic lost....
ALBANY, Ore. -- Police blame street racing for a double-fatal hit-and-run crash Saturday in Albany.
carJodie Jones, 30, was allegedly racing her Ford Expedition when she slammed into a Honda Civic waiting at a red light. Todd Boone and Josh Perkins, both 20, died at the scene.
"Absolutely senseless, high rate of speed. Yes, it was 1:30 in the morning, but it led to the death of two people and this was completely avoidable," Capt. Eric Carter told KOIN News 6.
Jones was arrested Monday and charged with manslaughter, reckless driving and DUI.
The Albany Police Department is still looking for 24-year-old Tonya Anne Jones, also known as Tia Jackson and Tonya Raines. Investigators believe her vehicle, a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe with Oregon license plates 106 CAQ, was racing Jones at the time of the crash.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Albany Police Department at (541) 917-7680.

Ah, but prolly 1,5000 times before the ineveitable finally happens it's all fun and games and "oooh, i owned this guy last night when we raced from a red light"
Those threads should not be allowed, it's just fucking stupid.
You wanna race, fine, shit, this is a Camaro forum, I spend time and money on my car. But, when I want to experience the fruits of my labor, I'm not going risk life and limb at someone elses expense. Plus we're talking cars here, shit breaks. So would you rather crash in the middle of nowhere or a highway and lay there all fucked up in pile of your own remains hoping someone will find you soon? Me, fuck no, if i'm gonna crash it's gonna be in where medical help is right there waiting in a controlled enviornment.

Well.... THAT is one reason why women should not be allowed to drive big SUV's. They think it's a fucking sports car because it's got a big engine... they don't have the sense to realize the reason why big trucks have big engines is because A they're much heavier and harder to manuever, B the big engines weren't intend to go fast... they wre intended to do WORK. At least until the rich pricks of the world thought it was cool to buy their wives a vehicle they have no business driving.

Good. First or Second degree murder sounds about right to me.
What will really make the whole thing suck ass... is if they charge them with like vehicular manslaughter and give them 2 months. These asswipes need to go away for 40+ years.

Its like hittin a parked car. and when someone is sittin at a light, their bright ass brakelights are on and they're sitting STILL!. Its not like they pulled out in front of em. that sucks cuz it could have been any one of us. sitting at a red light and doing the right thing and then some big effin SUV comes into your back seat

in ky that would be a class d felony, which is 1-5 years in prison
KRS 507.050 Reckless Homicide:
1)A person is guilty of reckless homicide when, with recklessness he causes the death of another person
2)Reckless homicide is a class d felony

These idiots are racing and kill 2 people and all they're going to get is 1-5 years - probably less than one served with good behavior???
Eye for an Eye brother... How old were the 2 people that were killed?? Any kids?? Spouses??
Killling them may seem a tad (a very small tad) harsh, but now we have to pay for these 2 fuck-ups top go to jail... and if they have kids... now a foster family is going to have to take care of them... ridiculous.
Women (and quite a few men actually) shouldn't be allowed to drive anything larger than a station wagon.

With you on that testing, etc...
AND if Congress wouldn't steal the OASDI & Medicare taxes and put them into te general budget every year... (ie use the fucking taxes for the reason they are collecting them) then Social Security recipients would never have had to, nor will they ever have to, worry about the beneifts not being there when they retire. 6, I'm not mad or anything, but that whole everything is one person's fault thing just doesn't make any sense when you know some of the details underlying the circumstances. I'm sure GWB has made his share of mistakes up there, but MOST of them were not entriely HIS decision.
(IE if the general public knew about the fight CPA's - primarily CPA's but other tax preparers too - were having with the IRS and state licensing and taxing bodies, you wouldn't being paying much attention to what GWB is saying about tax law... he only has an OPINION on what he would LIKE to see happen. Good example... a local CPA who just built a nice fancy office a few miles from ours used to be an attorney until he got disbarred... for getting caught stealing settlements from his clients. He didin't get arrested and charged, he only got disbarred from parctice as an attorney - and kept most of the money. He then went and got a CPA license in PA, whose by-laws and regulations say you can not be licensed if you were convicted of anything above a misdemeanor. So now we having a theiving prick who is manipulating the system to his own benefit "serving" the public, and the quality control system of the PA Board of Accountancy and PA Dept of Revenue want to put more regulations on the licensees to make sure we're all on the "up and up". And everyone wants to know why all these big corporations *ahem ENRON* are going bankrupt when they have highly skilled, highly qualified CPAs working for them. The level of corruption is truly staggering.)
Anyhoo... I don't wanna fight either. I like maro's and cheesesteaks and other stuff better.

here is the correct information:
a lady who was drunk was street racing in her ford expedition that was in 4WD at the time (it helps you take off faster) she was street racing another car. She was going in between 60 to 100 MPH when she struck a red honda civic stopped at a stop light. she not only hit them but due to being in 4WD at the time drove over the top of the car and crushed two boys. The second driver drove through the accident scene not hitting the car but blood, paint chips and brain matter yes brain matter where found in bedded in the paint of his car and under the car. The lady in the expedition was going so fast her car kept going even with brain matter car parts and damage. She finally stopped about a black and a half up due to a flat tire. Her 4 children where at home alone without a baby sitter. He husband in the seat next to her had coke in his system as while as being drunk. The lady left the hospital and ran from the cops for a few days. She got manslaughter because Oregon doesnt have vehicular manslaughter and its not considered murder because it is not intentional. From prison this lady sends letters the the city paper asking them to remove the pictures of the boys she killed from the cite because her parents and children drive by and it think of her in jail.
SO to answer all questions:
YES the honda was not racing it was stopped at a red light! The honda and the 4 people in the Honda had NOTHING to do with the racing they were victims of drunk stupid peoples choices!!!!
The street racers were a lady named Jodie Jones and a guy named Brandon Schmunk
Both of the drivers are in jail. Brandon got 10 years and Jodie got 15 I believe.
I know this to be true because I am related to one of the people in the Honda.

No that is not the correct story either. Todd Boone is my son, and I had to hear the horrific details of what truly occurred. I just stumbled across this page when typing in the name of the driver of the Expedition, as I for some reason find myself doing from time to time.
I was impressed to see the posts regarding 'street racing' and the comments that were made recognizing how IGNORANT it is to drive your rods at a high rate of speed on the roads designed to share with everyone. It's not about you it's about those innocently sitting at a red light on the way home. I also own a fast car - not a Camaro although I recently sold one that my husband had built. We now own a built 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (of course) 5 speed with many mods. Painted into the back bumper is the statement 'Driven in the Spirit of Todd Gary Boone'. You see that is my sons one dream. To own a 'Z' and he never got to so we got one for him. It is sweet with custom paint and lots of goodies. I often have people roll up on me when I 'm driving it and want to race. The look at me (as if they can see thru the blacked out windows) like I'm crazy. There have been times where I have directed them to pull over to share the story......
There were four young adults sitting at a red light at @ 1:30am on their way home. Out of nowhere came two SUV's - one Expedition and one Tahoe - racing at @90mph. (The cameras in a store right before the impact caught them). They came around a slight curve and made impact with the passenger side of the Honda where my son sat in the front and his friend Josh sat in the back. The Expedition was not in 4WD prior to impact, but in fact was put in 4WD to try to escape the scene. The Tahoe did not have impact with anything, but there were minuscule paint chips found on it that matched the paint of the Honda. There was no blood or brains that splattered. My sons brains were carried with the Expedition several blocks down the street where she stopped when she finally realized that she was not going to be able to flee. The drivers side half of the Expedition's bumper was cut off to maintain for evidence that it had in fact hit my son in the head. The Honda exploded!!! The expedition did not drive over it, but caused it to spin around in the intersection stopping at a point where my son fell out because there was no passenger side left of the car - no seat belt holding him in any longer. He then lay in the rainy, wet, street while the other vehicles either tried or did leave the scene. There was a trial that August where the Expedition's driver Jodie Jones was sentenced to 16 1/2 years in prison, and the Tahoe's driver was sentenced to 10 1/2. Although Jodie Jones has tried every manner possible to get out early or completely have the sentence overturned, none of her attempts have been successful. Thank God! Both sentenced will have to serve the entire term - no early release - no good behavior time off. But still, they will get out one day. I myself on the other hand, along with Todd's twin sister and the many other friends and family are serving a life sentence of unbearable pain! We did nothing wrong (nor did the boys) but we suffer more than you can ever imagine. It is the knock at the door that you see in the movies and it does take your legs right out from under you.
So...... PLEASE!!!!!! Don't race your rods on the street, whether you have been drinking or not. It's not about you, how sweet your ride is, or how fast you can go. If there was private space for you to do so it would be absolutely fine, but I'm talking about our roadways that we share. Remember it's not about you (I like to go fast too as would Todd have if he's ever had the chance to drive his 'Z') but please take it off the public roads. Someone just like my boy could be sitting there, just a few blocks from home..............
Go ahead and google 'Todd Boone Albany,OR' or 'Jodie Jones Albany, OR' or go to Todd's myspace page that his friends made after he was gone and read..... and think..... before you hit the gas.
God bless those of you who already know the horrors or those who are mature enough to see without having suffered such tragedy that street racing is dangerous, and tell other the same.
