Wheel bearings

Hey, I'm a new member, and I'm curious about the ease of installation of wheel bearings on my GTP 4 door, year 2000. I do all the work to my own cars and always have, what i need to know is if someone else has done it, and if there are any tips for me. i know how confusing jobs are on these modern cars sometimes. Any info would be greatly appreciated, as i have to do this this weekend. thanks!:licka:

It is a DIY job. Special tools: torque wrench needed (150 - 180 ft-lbs) for axle nut depending on brand hubs, hub puller, lug nut torque = 100 ft-lbs, 36mm axle nut socket with a breaker bar.

Try a search for "wheel bearings" and "hub". We've covered this issue in alot of older discussions to include recently.

No problem and you are welcome. Really not that difficult just takes a little time and a process must be followed. Here are various wheel bearing issue links:

Also, be careful on which brand hub/bearings you get. They should be a quality name brand like OEM AC Delco or BCA- Federal Mogul. The white box ones made in China are not too reliable and you may have to do the work again.

If you decide to do it just post again and someone should be able to help. A lot of us have done hub jobs.
