hi i got a 90 iroc z camaro 305 been trying to fix for a while now car will start from time to time. when it starts u can not give it gas or she stalls write away original problem was driven down the street and all of a sudden when u tryed to give it gas she would cut out until she finally came to a dead stop still ran no throttle...At first it would start no problem idle smooth but would not let u give it gas. i put new plugs wires cap rotor ignition module tested plug wires for spark and it sparks wondering how to properly test the injectors , throttle postion sensor and idle control valve car only has 100000km its stored in winter also put new o2 sensor and fuel filter. i got a multimeter with oms reading do you check the wiring or the actual part with the key on car not running. Please help Tom

just go and buy a gauge, good invesment. And if you just let the fuel come out of the rail, that is not going to tell you how much fuel pershure is there, it will just tell you that it is getting gas.

maybe your fuel pressure regulator... should try replacing that.

I have a 1990 Iroc and my car was doing similar stuff. By the time I got it, it would only try to start, wouldnt even start completely. Yesterday I took off the injectors and They were so full of crap that the bottom of them were completely dry. Every one I checked was like that. If you are getting correct resistance from the Injectors, and if you have 42 lbs of pressure to the fuel rail, then the only other thing that could be wrong besides the Injectors being bad I would think would be the pulse to the injectors. If you have the pulse, seen with a noid light, then I would start pulling injectors and looking at that part. Good luck in finding your problem.

yeah my car had a similar problem.. unplugged the alternator and the car wouldnt die on me.. it happened to be a short circuit in the thick pink wire.. it killed 2 alternators until it was fixed.
