anybody know a site to tell me the engine codes for all hyundai models . and where can i locate the code in the engine

I think the man isnt looking for the ODB error codes, but rather the manufacturers designation codes for the parts.
This might be kinda tricky, and you might have to get the information from a rep at hyundai. I will send a kind email over to them (Im in the auto engineering field, maybe that will help) and ask them to give me this information for the american models. When they send that information back to me I will then request the international breakdown too.
This might be difficult to pin down precisely, but if you plan on making your own resource just start with getting the models and years of availablility all recorded properly. Then you can sometimes view parts of help manuals like haynes or chiltons, enough to get engine size/tranny combos. If not, you can tediously use things like KBB to establish generation and engine size offerings in each model for each year, of course, for the US only.
Then you can go about finding the special cases where engine offerings were different in other countries than the US. Once you know the engine size and tranny options in each model for each year, you will be able to begin to decipher for yourself which engine is in which vehicle.
A problem with this is that though the code may stay the same, changes may be made, and thus, a model may have a different offering or incompatability. ECU code designations should be nearly perfect, with two ECUs identical if they have identical IDs.
