acceleration problem

hey guys i just bought a 2000 ecplise rs and i've had it for about 8 days. i dont know much about them so here is my problem, when i accelerate it acts like it wants to hesitate before it speeds up, or like it doesnt want to give me all that im telling it to if that makes since.

its got 138000 miles on it and its a 5 speed, it does it in every gear
but not all the time

whats the intake/exhaust size? i have the same modle and year but in auto.

Your intake is stuck to your hood. There is that piece of plastic that goes on your radiator that is part of your intake...it gets stuck to your hood. Your clips or whatever have probably worn off and arent there. All you have to do it just take it off. While you are at it just cut the whole bottom of your intake box off....its kinda a CAI, but real ghetto style.

Get a tuneup
new plugs , filters, prolly some belts

and pulling the one piece off your intake couldn't hurt, there is a thread around here somewhere with that info in it...
