I new better and I forgot! I'm getting old I guess and it is showing.
I have a '92 Trooper 130k changed timing belt, w-pump, wires :banghead: and by damned if I didn't put Bosch Platinum plugs in her. Well, there it was that CEL glowing brightly right in front of me when I started her up.
Well I remembered you had a forum running on this before so I changed those darned plugs to Nippons. Now all is WELL, she runs as if she were new.
Thanks for all the advise, keep it coming!:2cents:

I agree with you Bosh had damage two of my vehicle, I do not trust them at all. I put what came on the vehicle or now I have come to trust NGK, thats what my 2000 trooper is running now (Iridium plugs). I have good gas milage and so far soooo good. PS I have used NGK in 3 vehicles and all 3 have run over 130K each, that tells me something. One of them was a GEO metro since I got tired of paying and not getting it fix, thanks to the GEO I learned a lot of mechanics. (still working on diassembling the whole engine)

I must be blind but as I clicked on this topic I was hoping to find the answer to the Subject: "Why not to use Bosch Platinum Plugs"
why ?
I saw one reply referring to unspecified "damage" but no real reason, please, if you know why, kindly post it
what does the Bosch Platinum do? does it burn too hot? does it cause buildup? does it cause sensors to display codes? what else?

I actually use Bosch single platinum on my '97 3.2l. I put first set at 45k and changed them at 90K, and now at 109K I can report I did not have any problem with them, cel or something, mpg normal. Factory plugs were Champion double platinum. I know Bosch no-no if you have ion sensing ignition but it for 2000+ year.

I didn't check for any codes, But since I've changed to Densos I have no problem with CEL.
