Hey everyone,
Recently I've noticed that my turn signals do not work every once in awhile. Usually I have to press the hazard light button and let them blink 3-4 times before the turn signals start working again. Has anybody ever had this problem? It only does this maybe once a week or so, and usually quits once I've hit the hazard lights. Any suggestions? I've checked the fuses, but.. nothing. Also my horn isn't working when I push on it, but it works when I lock my car. How do i fix this?
Thanks
LeeAnna

I was having the same problem and I replaced the hazard warning switch that is located in the dash right above the radio on my 2000 grand am. I had to buy the part from the dealer and it costed me about $29 after taxes. The only problem is now the flasher makes a contant clicking noise like it is on, but nothing is flashing and when I turn it on it works or when I use my blinker it works fine, only when it is not in use it makes the constant sound like the flashers are on. Any suggestions.

Pontiac issued a recall for that defective hazard switch; mine was replaced for free last year. My car is a 2000 GT1.... I'm not positive about what years were affected with the recall though... The switch was recalled as it was considered a "safety defect" needing immediate repair or replacing. Check with your Pontiac dealer or search the forum for info....because I can't remember what years were affected.
Any Pontiac dealership is supposed to honor any safety / recall matter; that is law. Don't let them tell you to "take the car where you bought it" crap. A safety recall is just that; an immediate repair of a defectice item. Having no turn signals, or having them turn on by themselves, is certainly a safety defect.... Now, go get 'em fixed !
Have a great weekend everyone.....take care.
