97 Bravada Keyless Entry not working

The truck wasn't started in a week or so and the battery went dead. Charged it up and it started right up. But now the keyless entry is not working. Replaced both batteries in the fobs and it still is not working. Any fix for this? Thanks.

Re: Need Help 1997 Keyless entry

Make sure you have all your remotes.
1. Locate the Data Link Port. It is located under dash driver’s side. Be sure you know which pins are 8 and 4.
You will have to look closely and may even need to take the 2 screws holding the thing in place out so you can see the little numbers.

2. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 8 and 4. Connect 8 to 4 with a suitable jumper wire (leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure). Make sure you know which terminals are 8 and 4. The vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors to signify entering of programming mode.
3. Press and hold both the LOCK and UNLUCK buttons together on the first transmitter to be programmed. After about 15 seconds, the vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking the doors. Release the buttons on the transmitter.
4. Within one minute, repeat the previous step on the remaining transmitters to be programmed.
5. Remove jumper wire applied to the OBDII

You do not need to run through a full programming process. Anytime you change the battery or the battery is dead for longer than like 30 seconds....you need to resynchonize the remotes.

Just stand next to the car, and press and HOLD - LOCK & UNLOCK down for 7-10 seconds on each remote.

The receiver will now recognize their signal again.

Thanks for the info, that would be lots easier than trying to see those little numbers under the dash..

Did the "hold lock and unlock buttons down for 7-10 seconds on each remote" thing and everything is working well. Thanks for the help.
