Air Intake Installation

I need some help...im looking to buy all the parts i need seperaltey for an air intake...My old jetta i did this with now problem but i currently own a 98 Jetta K2 5 spd manual trans...there some wires going into the stock air box and i have no i dea waht to do with them...do i "T" them off or do i just leave them chilling...thats the only thing i need..i ve been looking for a while and no one seems to know:banghead:...also when i start my car and dorve it ticks like ai need a new oil filter or something but i do not cause i jsut rpelaced it..it only does it till the car gets warm the stops...
