Tamiya kit with a bit of added parts (seatbelts, modified - but not enough - rollcage) As Warren has the Nr 1 car I decided to be original. They make up a nice team (Warren, IIRC the pics of your Sierra - it was on the table that looks a bit like mine. Could you post a pic or two of your car here :))

Total Decal !! looks very good man, but you on a roll.. wanna bet that you made models for many years without taking pics, and now you finnaly have a digicam so all the old models came out of the closet, while you say that it is a nwew model.. We're on to you man.. :D:D

But very good modeling.. keep it up, but please don't go to fast... makes me feel slow.. (ok I'm slow.. but I don't know it yet.. :))

What? Another one?
I remember see the Tamiya Sierra for sale, about ... ten years ago.
Great work Ales, the model looks perfect.
Using "real" seatbelts instead of decals really give a much better and realistic look.

Keep them coming :)

Hey, why don't you send me your model and I'll do some nice pics of the two cars together :D:D:D and send it back to ya? Like the idea? :D:D:D

Chris (or anyone): where can I find some aftermarket decals for this car (I might buy the Piummi version but I'm weighing my options on the livery)?

Thansk for your comment everyone,
:bandit: Alex

Decals: they suck anyway, so don't worry. Although the red is really bright, the decals are thick as my butt! Very hard to work with...

Gas caps: during a pitstop the car gets refuelled, and pits are situated on different sides of the track on different tracks (compare, e.g. the Monza track and the Montreal track). You have to be able to get the fuel nozzle in in any situation. Converting to a street car is another option of mine, and I would fill on of the caps. It should be on the right side (real cars have them on the right)

Here are some references for you:

Care to scratch-build the engine? :D

Renaisance do a couple of goods ones including the awesome Panach one shown here http://www2.comco.ne.jp/%7Egarage/gallery/sierra-g.html - although this guy made these decals himself! The Renaisance ones are for rally spec cars so you will need to do some minor mods and get a transkit to go with it.

My plan is to make the one below and do my own decals and perhaps have them available as a transkit, but the sierra is not in production now so might not be worth it. Im now considered leaving the decals but paint the strips and have it as a street car.

This is what i did to mine -
The front intakes are brought inwards and bottom lip modified.
New gas cap, on one side only.
rear wing reshaped.

Also I think there is another touring car decal set which is the BTCC Barratts set - cant remember who makes it.
