Anybody here know how much weight I can put on a roof rack? I have a 95' 3 cyl. I haven't bought a rack yet. If it's important, I want to haul plywood to work. I use it for every other work related purpose...

I don't know the answer to your question, but It'll depend on where it comes from. I've been searching for a rack for my '96 4 door. I got one from JC Whitney, but it didn't fit well, wasn't put together very well, so I returned it. I know there are Thule and Yakima racks available, but I want the factory type look. So, I'd be interested to hear what others are using for racks and the capacity. I'll use mine mostly for a canoe.

No, but I will as soon as I get a rack and it warms up a little here in NH. I once had a snowblower on top of a '78 Toyota Corolla. i wish I took a picture!

I really need a roof rack. In my line of work, I am always hauling something. I once took 17 bags of insulation with my car. Most of it inside, and the rest on top. I love the looks I get when I do stuff like that!

In most cases I would say about 100lbs is the most amount of weight you should put on your roof rack. I just finished putting mine together and all of the manuals say you can put up to 100lbs if it's spread evenly.
