Not the ones out on the sides of the car, but hanging from the windshield, inside. How do you folks attach them? I've yet to find a decent way that doesn't leave a mess, that doesn't leave the mirror crooked, that doesn't let the mirror drop off later. Augh!

The way i do it is this. i put a small bit of blue tack on the end of the mirror that needs to be attached. but i poke the end through just enough to apply BSI Gold CA 30-second type (non fogging) to the tip. I then carefully line up the tip to were it is to be located and stick it on, holding it in place with the bluetack. 30-second type allows me to straighten it out so it isnt crooked. then i let it dry for a few hours and carefully remove the bluetack. does this make sense to you?

That sounds like a real good way. I have trouble with those little dang mirrors too.

Brilliant method! For me I just use regular model glue and hope for the best... :) I tried double sided tape cut into very small size. But the tape is not totally transparent. It works for some models but not all . When the end of the mirror piece is not attached to the front windshield, the double sided tape will not be visible.

I find that some of them have an imprint on the windshield where they go, so in that case i paint that tiny section black (on the inside), then once dry i use a tooth pick with some super glue, dab a tiny bit on the mirror and then tweezers finish it off. That does the trick for me. No more seeing that glue, all you see is a black dot where the mirror is attached. Hopefully i clarified it well enough to understand.

Tamiya clear. Dip the end in it. A side note...um...on the 1:1 windsheilds we do...sometimes the mirrors do go on crooked..but shhhh!;)

Franco (http://www.us.imdb.com/name/nm0000471/): And now my friend, the first-a rule of Italian driving.
[Franco rips off his rear-view mirror and throws it out of the car]
Franco (http://www.us.imdb.com/name/nm0000471/): What's-a behind me is not important.
Drop of white glue. I have more trouble keeping my fingerprints off the foil face...

well, I use 2compound gleu. I mix a tiny bit.. let it dry a few minutes and when it becomes thick i put a tiny bit on the mirror and press it on the glass. Because the glue has dryed a bit, it sticks instantly and when its cured, it's barely visible and much stronger than whit glue.

I use Delta CeramCoat Gloss Varnish. . .
Dries pretty fast and is stronger than regular hobby clears and flexible. . .
1000's of other uses too. . . Applying PE to just about anything that needs a good strong clear coat. . . I won't build without it. . .

Hypoid cement (watch crystal glue) applied with a pointed toothpick. Allows for positioning but tries fairly quick.
