I don't listen to anything while 'racing'... nothing is more important than listening to your car while you're racing.
gauges can be misleading, the ear on ocassion can hear something wrong before it gets serious...
Concentration on the task at hand is key. Not some crap song from some whinning band.

For me to get in a race, several things have to happen:
1. I have to fix my car to make it go again.
2. I have to find somebody dumb enough to race a Corolla
3. I have to actually bother (because losing gets boring after a while)
But if the planets align properly, it's some sort of thrash/death metal. But then again that's always on and I don't say "Hey! Hold on I have to change CD's!"
O yes...welcome to AF

I listen to some metal on the way to get to the race site.
But when I race I turn it way down, from launch on I dont hear anything. As red said, mind on task!

Tell me do you listen to music while your with your g/f in bed? Singing some wierd son while your with her? Your car is like your g/f it needs your full attention not the stereo. So i agree with red>>>>>>

i don't listen to music while racing...doesn't make any sense to have distractions...but while i'm just driving fast with my buddies playing a little cat and mouse i usually have some techno going or high energy rap (that new E-40 song is awesome btw)

Man you want the full playlist? Its a good hundred plus songs long. Unless its a real race, then I turn it down.

The only racing I do nowadays is on GT4. I can play my own music and just hold down the go button without having to concentrate on my car braking down, mis-shifting, or what not.
Plus I get to eat some Doritos while doing it.It's the safest way to race..

You don't put on some soft R&B music when ur chillin with ur girl, hollaback girl, or random trick of the night? (just covering all the bases here...no pun intended..)
But when racing? you really really want to have all your senses focused on the race and surrounding area...music can distract you, you need as few distractions as possible of somethin real bad could happen

Indeed, thats why race cars don't have $3,000 stereos systems.

I usually am listening to what ever I was driving to. If I race someone it is random and I usually don't have time to turn the song or turn it down. However, if I was I might listen to a little "Sandstorm" techno, but who knows.
