88 tranny into 91?

do 88 350 camaros have the same tranny as the 350 91 camaros?
are they a direct swap?

Should both be 700r4. Chekc the pan configuration and PN on the tail.

im pretty sure they are the same...i have a 88 700r4 in my 91 all we did was change the tailshaft out but i dont even think we had to do that...we just did it because of the speedo gears..

if it is a 91 then ya but if it is a 92 then no, make shure they are both 700r4's

it is definitely a '91. so if they are both 700r4 transmission's they are directly interchangeable, or do i have to shorten/lengthen the driveshaft? i thought that like the early 80's to like '92 are the same body style car, and if they use the same chassis then it should be a direct swap.

nope, the 3ed and 4th gen drive shaft are the same. Should go smoothly.
