vert top cleaning?

any1 kno how to clean a convertible top? is there some sort of conditioner or something for it or does it just fade w/out ability to help it? im startin to get a small white space at the front too...is there some way that i could get that to look better? maybe some sort of paint or anything? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..thanks
