do you have any type of logging device that can detect knock? Could be very bad, depends where it's coming from.

Are you datalogging with the maft? If not you should be at least a pocketlogger if not dsmlink. You may be running rich/lean and not know it.

Yeah that could cause some problems for sure. You most likely starved a bearing and then spun it.

No Problem but fixing it would be nice.

Running with no oil is bad.

And yeah it is a huge problem.

It sounds like you need to stop driving this car before you cause anymore damage, first you say youve driven it while it was over heating and now without oil? Im sorry but you dont seem very intelligent...

Well, I would figure out what the grinding noise is. You could try opening your hood while your car is ideling and try to identify where it is coming from. Oh and if you didn't put oil in it yet that would be a good idea.

Just because a noise went away temporarily doesn't mean that a vital problem could stilll exist. Running without any oil in the engine is extremely detrimental. Also, please be more specific with your threads next time, saying "some grinding sound is caming out of my engine. i dont know what may be causing it is this a really bad problem. hpe not!!!!" will not be sufficient to get a helpful response. Thank you

How suddenly?

Get a long extension and put it against your tragus (the piece of cartilage in front of your ear canal :icon16: ) then put the other end on the engine in different locations (valve cover, oil pan, side of block, etc.) and determine if the noise is coming from the top or bottom of the engine. Let us know, and we will go from there.

Do a compression check as well. Cheap and very easy, plus it gives you and idea where your engine is at.
