2000 rotor replace

My wife's 2000 needs the F and R brake rotors replaced. The shop wants $400 parts & labor to do it. How hard is it to do this myself? I can do most repairs/maintenance myself, just wondering if I am going to be getting into a 2-3 day job.

Probably takes about 1 hour tops. I know when I replaced my brakes with a baer kit that replaced the entire unit, me and 2 friends knocked it out in 15 mins.

Get a repair manual and read the procedure. You should find it fairly easy.

just a question, what makes you think all 4 of your rotors need to be replaced, i have never heard of all 4 rotors NEEDing to be replaced at the same time, is that something the "shop" told you???

also, its extremely easy to do yourself, if you want ill type out the instructions in the chiltons manual for it.....

The pads were replaced about 18-24 months ago. My father-in-law didn't turn the rotors when doing the pads. There is heavy rust on the fronts to where we couldn't turn them and fix the problem. Rears are beyond turning.

Don't know where she got the car or who owned it before her, just trying to fix the problem...
