I have a 1995 dodge caravan, first the heater started leaking water, then all of a sudden it won’t start brought it to get fix, they said it was a ignition switch that was on the transmission, when we got home it won’t idle right and it acts like it it’s going to stall, some times it does, if you on hook the battery for 30 minutes or longer it will run fine for a little while, then it will start acting up again. It almost feels like it’s not getting any gas, when my mechanic hook it up to the machine it said the coil was bad replace that and still acts up. does any one have any idea? Please help… my mechanic has no idea what it might be.

Are there any codes from the diagnostic check?

What motor and transmission is this?

sounds more like a TPS/MAP/TEMP sensor or fuel delivery problem, or of course a loose or disconnected wire...

Give us a little more info.

Tom

My mechanic said when he put it on the machine it said it was a coil, we replace that ran fine for a little while then it start again, The motor is a 3.3 L, Transmission I don’t know for sure. Before this started happening out of the blue it would not start after I got gas, so we replace the crank sensor, ever since then we have been having this problem. I already check all the wires, but could it be a wire harness?

Just for the heck of it, since you said you replaced the crank sensor, go back and put a thin washer between the sensor and the block so that it sticks out a little more. My brother and I had a similar problem with and Intrepid with a 3.3 and there is supposed to a spacer that should have been in the box with the crank sensor. After I put that shim in there, we have not had any problems with it, apparenty the sensor was too close to the flywheel and that was causing it to give erratic readings.

OR how to fix it/
12 and 55 mean nothing , code 12 means the battery power has been interupted within the last 50 starts which everyone gets whether this has actually happened or not and code 55 just means end of codes .
