engine swap 1995 Z24 cavalier

Having trouble finding the stock 2.3 is there any other engine that will drop in and go.

if you are looking for 2.3l you can get one from GM for $1900 (i just had to replace my engine. just bought the car 3 mo. ago and got a bum deal with a rigged knocking engine) this engine is VERY hard to find used that is not already shot because this exact engine was only used in 1995 z24's and sunfires so unless you happen to come accross one on accident, or find someone who is swapping a 2.3 for a 2.4 (which would be funny since the 2.3 is stock 150hp, and the 2.4 is stock 130hp) then gm is the best bet. oh yeah forgot to tell you it's $1900 brand new, with no core. i opted for that to ensure no problems but im sure you could get it rebuilt for less.

OH YEAH!!! DO NOT TRY AUTO PARTS STORES! (ie. oreilley's, autozone, advanced, etc.) they will only sell you a refurbished/rebuilt engine for $200 more than the brand new gm engine!
