just throwin up some ideas here..
I'd like to get a set of components for my front doors and was wondering if theres any you guys recommend. I would like to run then through my HU (kenwood kdc-319) but I could get a small amp for them too.
Right now I'm looking at a set of Power Acoustik XP2K-50C 5.25", i can get them for 60 shipped. I'm not sure if that's a good deal or not but it sounds resonable to me.
right now i'm running polk 5x7s up front (i know cbfry will prolly say polks-puke) but i got then for the best price (free) so I slapped them in (anything better then OEM right? Well in this case my OEM's sounded better than these. Im running stock speakers in the rears doors and 2 12" mtx tw122s (old skool, but got these free also) in a sealed box in the trunk.. not much i know- but plenty for my needs

I can't even get a set that's worth a crap at MY cost for my shop at around $100 or less. Directed Audio came out with a line called Extreme a few years ago. I'm very impressed with their subwoofers and mono amps but haven't messed around with the rest of their speakers. www.directed.com

Its always directed with you. Good luck finding a set of decent ones under 150, im pretty sure brand doesnt matter but anything at best buy is crap and circuit city will push kicker on you like nothing else exists. Those infinity's would be your best bet.

those infinitys are very tempting but i was wanting to stay in the 5 1/4 inch range, so I don't have to cut my door panels up.

haha OR because he has the power to PWN. there arent a WHOLE lot of people i know with much more general car audio knowledge.
NG FTW.
actually, the original poster should just get bruce lee to design and build him a custom component set from the gorund up. itll prolly have 6 inches of excursion.

Directed whore. They where good back in the day, only stuff that i like from them now is the viper security and PPI amps only cause there cheap off ebay with lots of power.
Those infinity comps whould be more than fine, looking at a set for my accord cause i have bigger plans than sound for it.

i think you can get PG xenon comps for around 100.. i havent personally heard them but ive heard a lot of people say that they are the best in the price range. but as was said earlier.. maybe think a little more abotu investing a bit more in your comps rather than settling for now.

Haha. Indeed.
My front stage cost around $1000, that includes my HU (necessary for Active Crossover), Mids, Tweeters, Two 2channel Amps (for active), and materials for the fiberglass door pods I made. ;)

Actually they've never been all that unless you are talking about the old Orion stuff which isn't DEI anyway. Their new alarms are over rated and over priced.

Custom Vifa XT25 ring dome radiator tweeters, by Ascendant Audio. I still have the XXX6.5's and love them more than ever (b/c with my new tweets I was able to cross them over A LOT lower...taking a lot of stress off them), and the Kicker KX amps are solid as hell, couldn't be happier.

squeak over on CA recommended me some memphis m class 5 1/4 coax mount components.. im prolly gonna order them soon.. he said the sq is kickass and they get fairly loud.. and its prolly the best ill get for a coaxial/braxial mount in the 200 range (selling car soon dont want to cut it up).. i checked out some cdts, diamond d6s, and mb quarts too but i never really saw a proud review of any of them or hear em in proper setups (proper key word)... so..
anyways i was considering a KX for them thats why i was asking.. some of my friends have owned them and i was always fairly impressed..
also ill be deadening liek its my job, reruning wires, etc...

my front stage has cost me about $260 total.
Nest on my list of ubgrades ia a good head unit, then an active Xover and another two chanel amp, then new tweeters and then new mids (or mids and tweets at the same time). Then im back to bettering my sub stage. Im only $50 away from that. Met a cool guy named Shawn Fleming that lives about 45min from me. Gonna let me use his Term Lab and have his girl teach me how to recone using my TC9 and 18" basket :yum: . lol. He's becomming an RE dealer, just hope my future RE purchases wont have to be at his dealer prices :( .
when its all said and done i will actually have more money in my front stage than in my sub.
