new shocks vs. new bushings

Im debating on weather or not to buy new shocks. When I had some work done the mechanic said they were fine as far as a visual inspection goes. I noticed though when I got under to take a look at things bushings in the shocks were pretty much destroyed. So should I just get new bushings or get the new shocks?

How many miles are on the shocks, what brand are they, is the vechile a z71? If the vechile has the z71 package, the shocks are probably good if it has less then 70,000 miles, if it does not have the z71 package and has more than 20,000 miles then the shocks are bad and you should replace them. They may not have any oil on the out side but the gas could have leaked out and it is just a matter of time before the oil starts to leak out. If you want a good replacement shock look at KYB's, if you don't have a z71 and want the same ride use the gr2's, if it has the z71 and you want the same ride or you have a non-z71 and want the z71 ride use the monomax shocks.
