I just bought a 91 isuzu trooper with an automatic transmission. I drove it for about 20 miles and the transmission overheated and started blowing fluid everywhere. i left it cool down and it drove again for about another 15 miles and it did the same thing...the check trans light is on and i have to shift it manually to get it to move. do i need to replace the fluid and filter or do i need to replace the whole trans. please help me. :banghead:

My automatic just went out this week. What are the details on swapping a 5 speed into a 94 3.2L.

get the parts that you need from a scrap yard or a parts truck, you're going to probably need a new flywheel for the 5 speed, and a clutch kit. make sure the frames are either the same or that you can make some sort of support to bolt the transmission crossmember up to as it may be in a different location on the frames. don't forget to put the pilot bearing in the crankshaft!
good luck and hopefully you can beat the shit out of it soon enough!

trooper 2nd generation is from 1992 to 2002 models. i'm sure if they have the same engines they should work. I think they had 3.2 and 3.5 engines. Check the VIN's to see if they have the same frame or you might have to weld like i said about the crossmember. :)
