Well after reading that entire thread on shifter bushings and realizing how much I notice the double click when I shift, I ordered bushings and they arrived today, should be installed tomorrow :)

The under hood ones or shifter plate ones? I just ordered my shifter plate ones finally in hope to fix that double click when you shift.

Ordered plate ones, and I got bored and decided to install them, and wow, already a big difference. Theres still kind of a double click thing but its not nearly as bad, and its much easier to shift too.

Sweet, I should be getting mine in tomorrow or Wednesday and then I'll get them installed soon. :)

And after driving to get food, I realized there was a huge difference, literally, it takes no force to shift at all once it gets warmed up I guess. But it feels like your shifting on air lol.

What do you guys mean by double click?

sganc4life_4

Like when you shift into first gear, its somewhat ridgid like instead of a straight line, u zig zag a bit, and u feel it click once, then it clicks in gear.

Don't install them upsidedown.

Wait, are there supposed to be 4 ridged ones and 4 flat ones? Because all of mine are ridged...

their are 4 with center lumps in (those go under the shifter and come up through the holes), and then 4 circles that go around the tops. Note: My were polyeurathane. They are awesome :)

underhood bearing works great also.

I already have underhood ones and they stiffened it up a lot. But all 8 of my shifter plate bushings are exactly the same... Are they not supposed to be?

***EDIT***
Here is the auction and what they all look like.

I just ordered me a set of these bushings for my 1990 1G but I think the 1990 and 1991-1994 are different. I contacted the seller to ask them if they can send me the ones for 1990. I only think that they are different because when you go to order the machV ones there is a choice between 2G, 1G 1991-1994 and 1G 1990. I really hope the seller has the 1990 ones and that he will actually send me the right ones. Damn, how could I have missed that! I just saw the 1G and bought them.

whoops sorry. He is right raised ones on top circle in bottom. If you got the plastic type. I dunno about the metal ones.

Also don't tork them down too much. I snapped a screw the last time. It was a pain to get out but you can get new ones from a hardware store. It cost me 25 cents and an hour of my time.
