I would think anywere near 170 stock. the 2.2's are around 110 at the crank. so at teh wheels under 100. I know a guy who converted his 2.2 ohv to an 2.2 eco and it wasn't bad. Mounts lined up but you have to do some wireing and new engine and trans

:iagree: im guessing u might need new motor mounts, trans of course, a new wiring harness, probably some new drive shafts, and some other bits and pieces. i dont know, but the only car i know of w/ the 2.4 eco in it now is the solstice, which is rwd, so u might have a hard time getting a fwd trans if it doesnt match up to a 2.2. i would put a turbo on that bad boy too, they gonna make a solstice gxp turbo w/ 260 hp at the crank, sleeper cav anyone? hell i would do it with my 2.2 eco if i had the money for the 2.4

not worth doing, a complete waste of time. The 2.4 ecotec used in the Cobalt SS non Supercharged is all drive by wire. Thats means no shafts connect anything to the controls of the car, its all done electronically. The Whole car would have to be gutted of almost every wire and rewired. Even the steering wheel is drive by wire.

YOu posted this exact same message on jbody.org as well.
